Over 6,500 Pharmacies Can Now Gain Access to XRP Payment Solution via Wellgistics Health

Wellgistics Health, a leader in pharmaceutical distribution and AI-powered prescription services, has launched its XRP Ledger-powered XRP Implementation Program.

This initiative brings blockchain-based payment capabilities via the XRPL to over 6,500 independent pharmacies and 200 manufacturers across the United States. The program enables pharmacies to pay for products instantly, reduce transaction fees, and bypass traditional banking and credit card networks.

The rollout, announced on August 13, integrates with RxERP, an eCommerce and ERP system. It provides real-time transaction management, onboarding, and reporting tailored to the healthcare industry. The platform ensures compliance with HIPAA and anti-money laundering regulations while offering encrypted and traceable payments.

In the announcement, Wellgistics highlighted benefits such as instant settlement, 24/7 availability, and faster access to working capital. This allows pharmacies to restock inventory quickly and improve cash flow.

In addition, the system also eliminates intermediaries, enabling direct transactions between pharmacies and distributors, with real-time payment tracking and confirmation.

Next Phase: Manufacturers and Direct-to-Patient Programs

After completing the pharmacy rollout, Wellgistics plans to onboard pharmaceutical manufacturers to the XRP platform to enable direct, on-chain transactions.

The company also aims to launch Direct-to-Patient programs. Specifically, this would allow manufacturers to ship medications directly to patients’ homes in coordination with pharmacies and prescribing physicians.

In his remark, COO Tony Madsen emphasized the company’s broader vision. He explained that the initial phase will look to help make pharmacies’ payments for products more efficient. However, that’s just the beginning.

The ultimate goal is to make every aspect of pharmacy payments faster, more transparent, and entirely frictionless.

Boost for XRP Adoption

With thousands of pharmacies already in its network, Wellgistics’ XRP Payment Program marks a major step toward mainstream blockchain adoption in the U.S. healthcare sector. It showcases XRP’s ability to deliver practical, large-scale utility beyond the crypto market.

Meanwhile, Wellgistics is not only leveraging XRP for efficient transaction processing. Back in May, it announced plans to hold XRP as a treasury asset.

Notably, Wellgistics even secured a $50 million equity line of credit to support the launch of its XRPL-powered payment initiative.
